How TripGolf works
One person organizes, everyone stays in the loop. Here's the whole flow, start to finish.
For organizers
- 1Buy your group package on the signup page — pricing drops as your group gets bigger.
- 2Add your roster: everyone's name and email, plus handicap index if you have it.
- 3Set your trip dates, lodging, and flights.
- 4Add each round: course, format (stroke play, match play, scramble, and more), and tee times.
- 5Optional: set up two teams and side bets if your group tracks those.
- 6Share the invite link — everyone in your group can open it, pick their name, and follow along.
For invited players
- 1Open the invite link your organizer sent you.
- 2Pick your name from the roster so the app remembers you on this device.
- 3On round day, enter your scores hole by hole — tap the number, no typing needed.
- 4Check the Leaderboard tab any time to see live match status and standings.
Scoring & handicaps
If a round has par, slope rating, and a stroke index set for all 18 holes, TripGolf works out each player's Course Handicap and gives strokes accordingly — relative to the toughest player in a match for head-to-head formats, or against your full handicap in stroke play and Stableford. Without that setup, a round just scores gross. Alt-shot and scramble share one ball per side, so those formats show one line per team instead of one per player.
Questions
Do I need to install an app?
No — TripGolf runs in your phone's browser. If you want it to feel more like an app, use "Add to Home Screen" and it'll launch full-screen from an icon like any other app.
Can I change trip details after I've set everything up?
Yes. The organizer can go back into "Edit trip setup" from the trip page at any time — add players, change dates, add rounds, and everything else.
What if I don't know everyone's handicap?
Leave it blank. Rounds without full handicap info (par, slope, and a stroke index for all 18 holes) just score gross, with no strokes given — you can add the handicap details later and it'll apply from then on.
How does scoring work for scrambles and alternate shot?
Partners share one ball, so those formats show one score per side instead of one per player — enter it once and it applies to both partners automatically.
Can players see each other's scores?
Yes. Everyone in the trip can see the roster, schedule, and the live leaderboard. There's no way to hide scores from your own group.
How do bets work?
Add a Nassau, skins, wolf, match play, or custom bet to a round or the whole trip, pick who's in it, and mark each person's outcome as it's settled. TripGolf just tracks it — it doesn't move any money.
Do invited players need to make an account?
No. Opening the invite link and picking your name from the roster is enough — the app remembers you on that device from then on.
Can I get a copy of the trip to keep or print?
Yes — the trip page has a "Download Trip PDF" button with the full roster, schedule, fillable scorecards, lodging, meals, flights, and bets, so you've got an offline copy even without signal at the course.
